What is the Common Core?
The Common Core State Standards are a shared set of learning goals used across many US states. Math standards are organized by grade and domain, while English Language Arts standards cover reading literature, informational text, foundational skills, language and writing. Each standard has a code (like 3.OA.A.1 or CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.RI.4.2) saying exactly what students should be able to do.
