Worksheets you can actually trust

ChalkBee started from a simple frustration: AI worksheet generators are fast, but they get the maths wrong. A worksheet with a wrong answer key is worse than no worksheet, it costs you more time checking it than making it yourself, and it is embarrassing in front of a class.

So we built it differently. Every maths problem on ChalkBee is generated and solved in code, never by an AI. The answer key is correct by construction. We pair that with clean, print-ready layouts, curriculum alignment, a one-click dyslexia-friendly mode, no sign-up to print, and honest billing. There are now 3,700+ ready-made printable worksheets in the free library, plus a generator for fresh ones on demand.

Why we build ChalkBee

Underneath the never-wrong maths is the reason we started. We think school can be better, and that learning should be a better experience: clearer, more engaging, and focused on the skills that actually matter in life. Every child deserves a good education, wherever they are, and every teacher and parent deserves tools that make teaching those skills easier, not harder.

ChalkBee is our contribution to that: trustworthy material, free to use, with the busywork taken off the teacher's plate so more of their time goes to the class. The goal we care about most is a simple one, that a good education reaches as many children as possible.

Why paper

There is a reason ChalkBee is built for print, not screens. Young children learn to read and write by doing it with their hands. Forming letters and numbers on paper builds the fine motor control and muscle memory that tapping a tablet does not, and research links handwriting to stronger letter recognition and early reading. Paper also means no notifications and no battery, and a finished page a child can hold and be proud of. Screens have their place, but for early learning, a pencil and a printed sheet still do something a screen cannot.

How ChalkBee makes a worksheet

Most worksheet tools now ask a large language model to write the whole sheet. Language models are excellent at prose but routinely miscalculate arithmetic, so an AI-written maths worksheet needs every answer checked, which defeats the point. ChalkBee splits the job:

The result: you can trust the maths without proofreading it, and you keep judgement over the language sheets, which is exactly where a teacher's eye belongs.

Frequently asked questions

Are the answer keys actually correct?

For maths, always. Every maths problem and its answer are computed in code by the same generator, not written or guessed by an AI, so the answer key cannot be wrong. Incorrect maths is the single biggest problem with other AI worksheet tools. Reading, spelling, vocabulary and grammar sheets use AI and are clearly labelled and levelled for age-appropriateness; only the language content uses AI, never the maths.

Who makes ChalkBee, and can I trust it?

ChalkBee is an independent project built by an educator-minded developer, not a faceless content farm. The maths is deliberately built on procedural code so its correctness does not depend on trusting us, you can check any answer and it will hold. Worksheets are generated automatically, so we ask teachers to review any AI-generated (language) sheet before classroom use, and we say so plainly.

Is it aligned to a curriculum?

Yes. Worksheets and topics are mapped to the US Common Core (plus Texas TEKS and Virginia SOL), the Australian Curriculum (ACARA v9), and the UK and New Zealand curricula, by grade or year level. Spelling and money adapt to your country, so colour, centre and dollars look the way your students use them.

Do I need to sign up?

No. You can generate and print worksheets without an account, and the whole ready-made library is free to browse and print with no login. We think you should be able to try before you ever hand over an email.

How do I get a PDF?

Hit Print / Save as PDF on any worksheet and choose 'Save as PDF' in your browser's print dialog. Layouts are print-ready on US Letter or A4, with no watermark on Pro.

Is there a dyslexia-friendly option?

Yes. Every worksheet has a one-click 'Dyslexia-friendly' toggle that widens letter and word spacing and switches to a clearer font, something most worksheet tools make you set up by hand.

What does Pro cost, and is it easy to cancel?

Pro is $7.99/month or $59/year, with no lifetime lock-in. You can cancel in one click from your account, no emailing support, no dark patterns, and we never silently resume your plan after you cancel.

What worksheets can it make?

More than 40 maths topics from counting and number bonds to long division, fractions, decimals, time, money, measurement, geometry and early algebra; reading comprehension; spelling and phonics; vocabulary and grammar; handwriting and tracing; plus puzzles like word searches, crosswords, mazes and Sudoku, for Pre-K through Grade 6.
