Privacy Policy

ChalkBee ("we") makes printable worksheets for teachers and parents. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data. This policy explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

• A device id (cookie). When you save or share a worksheet we set a random id in a cookie so we can show you "My worksheets". It is not linked to your identity.
• Worksheets you save or share. Stored so you (and, if you share, anyone with the link) can reopen them.
• Email + payment details (Pro only). If you subscribe to Pro, payment is handled by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. We keep your subscription status to unlock Pro features.
• Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics for aggregate traffic and acquisition reporting, and PostHog Cloud EU to understand whether people successfully generate, print and purchase worksheets. PostHog receives explicit allowlisted product events, a random browser identifier, route template, coarse browser/device information and, after sign-in, an internal account identifier. We do not send worksheet text, prompts, names, email addresses, payment details, IP-derived location or child data to PostHog. SDK-added URLs, referrers and query/campaign parameters are removed before sending. Automatic click capture and session recording are disabled. You can block these services with an analytics blocker.
• Worksheet prompts. Topics you type for AI worksheets are sent to our AI provider (Google Gemini) to generate content, and may be briefly cached. Do not enter personal or student-identifying information.

How content you create is used

Worksheets you generate, save, share or submit as feedback may be used, in aggregate and without identifying you, to improve ChalkBee and to inform the creation of similar worksheets, templates and content on the site. Do not include personal or student-identifying information in anything you create or share.

Typing lessons

The free typing course needs no account and no sign-in. Your progress (which lessons you have finished, and your best speed and accuracy) is stored only in your own browser, on your own device, using local storage. It is never sent to us, never linked to you, and no data about the child using it is collected. Clearing your browser data removes it. Because we collect nothing about typing users, there is no typing data for us to hold, share, or delete.

Error monitoring

We use self-hosted error monitoring (Sentry) that runs on our own servers, not a third-party service. When something breaks, technical diagnostic data (the error message, a stack trace, your browser and device type, the page URL, and a timestamp) is sent to our own servers so we can find and fix the bug. We do not attach personal identifying information by default, and this data is not shared with third parties.

What we do NOT do

We do not sell your data, run third-party ad tracking, or require an account to use the free tools. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your rights

You can clear your saved worksheets by clearing cookies, or email us to delete your data and cancel Pro. Under GDPR/Australian Privacy Principles you can request access to or deletion of your data at any time.
