Year 6 summer holiday maths revision booklet
A free printable booklet to keep Year 6 maths ticking over during the Australian summer holidays, from the end of Term 4 in December to the start of Year 7 in late January or February. It revises rounding, decimals, fractions, factors and multiples, prime numbers, integers, 24-hour time and the Cartesian plane, the core number skills Year 7 starts from. Each day is five mixed questions and one summer story problem, two days to an A4 page, and the last page is a short check of whether your child is ready for Year 7.
For parents
- Do one day at a time, about ten minutes, a few times a week. Skip the week of Christmas.
- Each question has a small topic label, so you can see at a glance what was tricky.
- Keep the answer key (tick the box above the booklet, then print) for yourself.
For teachers
- Send it home in the last week of Term 4 as optional holiday work.
- Or use the Ready for Year 7 page as a quick end-of-year check in class.
- Every topic is mapped to the Year 6 content descriptions listed below.

Year 6 summer revision FAQ
What is in the Year 6 summer revision booklet?
10 short days of maths revision, two days to a printed page, each with five mixed questions and one summer story problem, then a one-page "Ready for Year 7" check. It revises rounding, decimals, fractions, factors and multiples, prime numbers, integers, 24-hour time and the Cartesian plane, the core number skills Year 7 starts from. There are 69 questions in all, with an answer key at the back.
How long does each day take?
About ten minutes. It is designed to keep skills warm over the break, not to fill the holidays, so one day at a time works better than doing several at once.
Is the answer key correct?
Yes. Every question comes from ChalkBee's procedural maths generators or a summer story template that computes its answer from the numbers in the question. Nothing is typed by hand or written by AI.
My child found some of it hard. What should I do?
That is useful to know before Year 7 starts. Note which topics were tricky using the labels next to each question, and try the matching Year 6 topic worksheets. It is also worth mentioning to the new teacher at the start of the year.
