Ratio Table and Double Number Line
The same ratio scaled up five ways, shown as a table of equivalent ratios and as a double number line. Two tools for the same job: finding equivalent ratios and unit rates.
Ratio table
| Cups of flour | 2 | 4 | 6 | 8 | 10 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cups of sugar | 3 | 6 | 9 | 12 | 15 |

How to use this chart
- Start with the ratio in words (2 cups flour to 3 cups sugar) before showing either tool, so students see both come from the same relationship.
- Point to the double number line whenever a worksheet asks for a value "in between" the ones on the poster; scaling a ratio table only shows whole-number jumps.
- Have students fill in a blank row or a blank tick mark themselves once they can explain how the poster's own numbers were found.
