How to use this chart
  • Start with the ratio in words (2 cups flour to 3 cups sugar) before showing either tool, so students see both come from the same relationship.
  • Point to the double number line whenever a worksheet asks for a value "in between" the ones on the poster; scaling a ratio table only shows whole-number jumps.
  • Have students fill in a blank row or a blank tick mark themselves once they can explain how the poster's own numbers were found.
