Uses place value and the job zero does to read, write and order two- and three-digit numbers.
MA1-RWN-01 is an outcome from the NESA Mathematics K-10 Syllabus (2022), taught in NSW schools. Because Stage 1 spans Years 1 and 2, the worksheets below come from Year 1 and Year 2. Print them as PDFs, or generate a fresh one. Every maths answer key is computed in code, so it is never wrong.
Teaching guide
Uses place value and the job zero does to read, write and order two- and three-digit numbers.
Build numbers with base-ten blocks or bundles of ten, then say the value of each digit ('the 3 is worth 30'). Expand numbers (300 + 40 + 2).

Reading a digit at face value regardless of its column, and dropping the zero as a place-holder (e.g. writing 32 for 302).
