MA1-2DS-01 is an outcome from the NESA Mathematics K-10 Syllabus (2022), taught in NSW schools. Because Stage 1 spans Years 1 and 2, the worksheets below come from Year 1 and Year 2. Print them as PDFs, or generate a fresh one. Every maths answer key is computed in code, so it is never wrong.

What students learn

Recognises, describes and represents shapes, including quadrilaterals and other common polygons.

How to teach it

Sort shapes by their number of sides, tracing each side and counting once. Use words like straight, curved and corner.

Watch out for

Counting a corner as a side, or losing count on shapes with many sides.
