MA3-3DS-01, Prisms, pyramids and their drawings
Stage 3 (Years 5 and 6) ยท Mathematics ยท Three-dimensional spatial structure
Visualises, sketches and builds three-dimensional objects, including prisms and pyramids, connecting them to two-dimensional drawings.
MA3-3DS-01 is an outcome from the NESA Mathematics K-10 Syllabus (2022), taught in NSW schools. Because Stage 3 spans Years 5 and 6, the worksheets below come from Year 5 and Year 6. Print them as PDFs, or generate a fresh one. Every maths answer key is computed in code, so it is never wrong.
Teaching guide
Visualises, sketches and builds three-dimensional objects, including prisms and pyramids, connecting them to two-dimensional drawings.
Sort and name 2D and 3D shapes by their properties (sides, angles, faces), then build up to perimeter (add the sides) and area (cover with unit squares).
Generated and checked in code, so it is correct.
Confusing perimeter and area, and judging a shape by its orientation rather than its properties.
