Daily maths review, Foundation to Year 6

A free maths warm-up for every school day, built for Australian classrooms. Pick a year for a 10-week term of daily review sheets: a handful of mixed questions each morning, each one tied to an AC9 content description for that year, with the code printed next to it. Answer keys are computed in code, so they are never wrong.

Why a daily review works

Skills taught once and never revisited fade within weeks. Two of the most reliable findings in the research on learning are that spacing practice out over time and mixing different kinds of problems (interleaving) both improve how well students remember and choose the right method. A short daily review is the practical classroom version of both: a few minutes of retrieval at the start of the lesson, weighted toward what was taught most recently, with older skills threaded back in so they stay fresh for the end-of-year check.

For a single-topic sheet instead, open any year hub (for example Year 3 maths worksheets), and for the end of the year, use the end-of-year maths tests. Students who finish early can move on to the early finisher activities.

Frequently asked questions

What is a daily maths review?

A daily maths review (also called a maths warm-up, number talk starter or do-now) is a short set of mixed questions at the start of a lesson that revisits skills already taught. Spacing practice out and mixing topics slows forgetting, so a few minutes a day keeps earlier skills ready for new learning.

How is this different from a worksheet?

A worksheet drills one topic. The daily review mixes several topics each day, weighted so recent learning comes up most and earlier skills keep resurfacing. That spacing and mixing is what makes it a review.

Is it aligned to the Australian Curriculum?

Yes. Each year only draws on topics mapped to that year's AC9 Mathematics content descriptions, and each question shows its code. Each year page also lists what the warm-up leaves out on purpose, such as topics that need a diagram.

Are the answers right?

Yes. Every question is generated in code with its answer computed, never written by a language model, so the key is always correct.
