Lila watching a large white moth rest on a red bucket beside night flowers.

Just after dark, Lila saw something pale tap the porch window. Tap, tap, tap. She thought it was a scrap of paper caught in the wind. Then it opened two wings. It was a white moth, almost as big as her hand. Lila switched off the porch light so the moth could find the night flowers. For a moment, it rested on her red bucket. Then it circled her head once and sailed into the dark. In the morning, Lila drew the moth before she could forget its moon-white wings.
