Calculate the summary statistics for both data sets, then compare them as asked.

  1. 1.
    Class A recorded 22, 20, 16, 22, 20 and Class B recorded 10, 15, 16, 13, 16 (in a maths quiz out of 30). Find the mean for each group, and state which group had the higher mean.

    Kea recorded 21, 23, 15, 25, 16 and Tui recorded 24, 19, 27, 22, 23 (goals in their last 5 netball games). Find the mean for each group, and state which group had the higher mean.

    Room 5 recorded 16, 14, 13, 24, 18 and Room 7 recorded 8, 16, 20, 17, 19 (books read this term). Find the mean for each group, and state which group had the higher mean.
